Retiring in 2025
Some of our crew is retiring in 2025 and will be joining their new families.
All of our retired members are spayed/neutered, and have a comprehensive vet check including a full organ health panel and final dental cleaning.
We want to be sure they go to their new homes in optimum health.

Candyville is celebrating an update on
Mama Maple❤️❤️
Sweet, gentle, and endlessly patient, Maple is our beloved golden retriever enjoying her well-deserved retirement. While she adores her quiet walks and cozy snuggles, Maple is known for her timid nature and her occasional (but adorable) stubborn streak when something doesn’t suit her fancy. Her kind and loving spirit fills our home with calm and warmth, and we’re so grateful to share this peaceful chapter of life with her. We love her sooooo much. She is the kindest, gentlest soul! ❤️❤️
Everly
Candyville's Heiress of Elegance
Everly, Abby, Hunter……she answers to all. Everly, she is our gem. You know when you loose a dog you always think you’ll never get another one you love as much. Each time we do. Thats why I keep calling her our other dogs’ name. She is the sweetest little girl ever. It’s almost like she has always lived here. She had to learn that the animals on our TV would not hurt her. She would bark and growl at them, she is learning that they are OK. She watches the ball games with us and twists her head at the plays…cracks us up. She understands regular doors but it has been an adjustment for the patio door. It took her two weeks to eat without me priming her with a few to get her going. No problem now! (Part of the adjustment to her new home.) She walks perfect on the leash…..well almost. Likes to cut us off a little. We went to the park pool and watch the kids yell and play and she did not bark at them. We also strolled around and she saw someone walking two much larger dogs and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw them. No growling or barking. Took her to meet a friends dog and she was ok at first then a little growly but came around before we left but didn’t want to go near the other dog…..I think she is doing great! If she is not chasing the ball or following John around she is sleeping. She loves to sleep. She has the run of the house during the day but sleeps in her crate at night. She misses us when we go out but we manage to be away for 3-4 hours and camera watch her. She barks we say “no” and she stops. She obviously knows the word “no”. She then will be good for a good half hour. The time between the barks is getting more and more so I know she’ll get there. We don’t want her to develop separation anxiety, we want her to be ok, knowing we’ll be back again. We can eat our meals or snacks and she does not bother us for food. If I’m snacking on the couch she is right beside me “sleeping”. Well I could go on and on about our little girl. We are extremely happy with Everly and her disposition is perfect. I wish we had her years ago. We thank you Katherine daily for Everly and all your hard work raising Everly until we got her. She has a great life here. I must say it was real hard to take her from her home that day. It broke my heart because I knew she was happy there. She loved you Katharine and would always run back to you for assurance. We will work on her meeting other dogs and we are half way there already. Thanks for Everly Ilene & John

Willow
Candyville's Will-O-The-Wisp
Willow is such a lovable and goofy girl that we have all fallen in love with her. And more importantly, she seems very happy and content to be with us too, including her two new sisters, Casey (a mini-golden doodle) and Button (a lazy calico cat). She’s always so excited for her walks – prancing and wiggling with so much excitement that putting the harness on her is a test of dexterity. She loves to cuddle and kiss – when she sees me petting her sister, she comes barreling over to join us, knocking us all down in the process. She loves watching the squirrels and rabbits during our walks. In fact, when I walk Willow and Casey together, all three of us are scanning the path incessantly, because if I don’t brace myself in time, the two of them will yank me off of my feet in the pursuit of wildlife! She’s so loving and affectionate – I can’t bend down to tie my shoes without Willow licking my face. She loves the water – anytime she’s off leash near a creek, she runs off towards the water and moments later I hear a big splash. There are some new tricks that Willow is still learning. For example, she loves playing fetch, although she often “catches” the ball with the side of her head. She startles easily at loud or sudden noises, of which there are a lot in the city, but thankfully, she recovers quickly. She can be unpredictable when walking on a leash, cross-crossing in front of me unexpectedly so that she, Casey and I are often a tangled mess. And she hasn’t figured out physics, often trotting off on the far side of fire hydrants, telephone poles and trees so that the leash gets wrapped around the hydrant/pole/tree. But all of her antics make us laugh and love her more. Her constant need for attention, that nose resting on your arm and that paw on your arm, reminding you to keep petting her. Her big smile that reveals her goofy underbite. Her delusion that she’s a lap dog. Her sweet, laid back demeanor. As you can tell, I’m thoroughly in love with this dog and will cherish every moment

Nala (Abby)
Candyville's Glow of an Evening Campfire
Abby, now Nala It has been almost a year since Abby moved to her forever home in Florida. She has truly brought so much joy to all of our lives. She is the most loyal girl and loves to tag along wherever her mom goes. She enjoys cuddling, playing with her son (Tucker), going on walks, making friends, and sun bathing. She has so many people who love her! She looks forward to seeing all of her extended family who help watch her when her mom has class and work. She gets to see her son, Tucker, almost every week and they love to rough house! This year she got to experience the fun of going to the beach, the holidays, and playing fetch! I feel so blessed every day that I have her, she is truly the perfect companion. Addison Wood

Rainger
Candyville's It's been Rainin' in Virginia
Rainger is the best thing that could’ve happened to our family! He is mine as well as our families first dog and we are so grateful for him, we love him so much 🫶🏻He is the goofiest, most loving and cuddly dog you could possibly ask for. The Candyville Pups team have also been extremely helpful with giving us all the information we need for our first dog. Everyday he loves playing with other dogs in the park, rolling around in the snow and eating some of it haha, he loves to go on hikes and does well off leash as well. Rainger’s a true velcro dog and will follow you around everywhere no matter what. Teaching him recall was by far the easiest thing to train since he loves getting the cuddles once he comes back. He loves everyone and always gets so happy when we have guests over or when someone comes back home. Rainger's now got people asking for videos and pictures of him all the time and is quite popular in our neighbourhood. We always get comments about how soft and beautiful he is and I always respond "Don't worry I tell him that everyday!" He does have his flaws and is quite the stubborn boy and had some episodes of eating food and a t-shirt that he wasn't supposed to 🤭 but we love him very much anyways. - Hannah Lo

Nugget
Candyville's Little Gold Nugget
We just ADORE Nugget - she is our little Pupcake :-) She is the sweetest little darling ever…with just a little sassiness, as you described lol We can put her with ANY dog and she is always the same - accepting and sweet. Our clients always love her too - we have people that will hang around after class and ask if we can bring Nugget in for a visit…and when it’s Puppy K group class night, Nugget is waiting at the door to come in. She is the perfect little Momma-referee, and interacts with the puppies so beautifully! However she is most happy enjoying the kibble leftovers, as well as all of the attention from the puppy owners lol. She keeps us laughing everyday with her little self, and we just love love love her! Every day I get “smiles” from Nugget as her “Good Morning” greeting. THANK YOU so very much for allowing us to welcome Nugget into our family. Pam & Serge / Trainers

Dusty
Candyville's Finding Gold Dust in Ohio
It's been less than a year since we brought Dusty home, and it's hard to imagine life without him. He blended into our family almost instantly, becoming a companion not only to our other dog, Carmen (Candyville Cocker Retriever), but especially to me. Their companionship is heartwarming. Dusty is incredibly affectionate, always seeking cuddles and hugs, and he's become my shadow, following me wherever I go. He's a true velcro dog, offering comfort and companionship whenever needed. Initially, there were concerns about marking (marking is part of a stud dog’s business 🐶), but thanks to Katherine's advice and some diapers, we resolved the issue within a few weeks. Dusty and Carmen are simply perfect dogs, often earning compliments for their calm and well-behaved demeanor. We're immensely grateful to Candyville Pups for completing our family. The only challenge? Dusty's insistence on close contact when sleeping – no matter the space available, he always wants to be touching us. But hey, we wouldn't have it any other way! 🐾 Karishma Punwani

Crystal
Candyville's Little Snow Angel
It’s been just over 3 months since we took Crystal home. She has really settled into her new life very well as you can see from some of these photos! She looks forward to her walks every day and LOVES to sniff her way around! Crystal is a fast learner. She has learned the word “wait” when we come to an intersection and won’t cross until we say”OK”. Crystal is a very affectionate dog with a beautiful disposition who loves to be by our side all day. The feeling is mutual. We feel so fortunate that we found Crystal and we’re able give her, her forever home. 🥰🐾 Cheers, Kim & Brad

Daisy & Trixie
Candyville's Sunkissed Daisies
Candyville's Doing Tricks for Treats
Daisy is our little ‘wiggle bum’! Her tail goes a mile a minute! She bonded with Cherry from day one. When Cherry is away from the house, Daisy is constantly running to the front window looking for her. And when Cherry drives in the driveway, Daisy gets so excited – running around, and barking and crying! It’s really quite something. Mom and I do not get quite that greeting when we come home. Daisy loves Christmas and Birthdays – she has a ball playing with the wrapping paper! Trixie is our ‘counter surfer’! She loves checking out what yummy morsels have been left out. We’ve had some close calls with a loaf of bread going outside as well as a BBQ Chicken! Trixie also really likes her stuffed toys and we call them her ‘babies’. Every day she takes them out of the basket in the living room and marches them outside. Our neighbour was wondering what all the stuffed animals were doing all over the yard! They love their walks in the park and on the trail by the river, and running around the backyard. They also love getting cozy on their beds, our beds and the couch! We are so happy to have them with us and they are very happy in their retirement. There is never a dull moment now! Wendy, Cherry, and Mary Ann Muir
