💕 Over the years, we have had different inquiries about hypoallergenic pups. We were especially touched by Vansh and his family.
Vansch was a very well mannered, respectful 12 year old boy with a good understanding of the responsibilities of raising and training a puppy. He was committed, and excited, and we were blessed to see his joy in taking Leo home.
It quickly became clear that this joy was going to be short lived.
Vansh’s eyes were red, itchy and his nose was running. He developed a persistent cough, and we knew Leo had to come back.
Our hearts hurt for Vansh, and his deep disappointment has not been forgotten.
Starting something “new to us” is not done on a whim. In the course of a few years, we have researched the cross, have spoken to different reputable poodle cross breeders, and have looked into using a health tested, registered poodle stud with a sound temperament.

Obedience training (sit, down,heel, etc) WILL NOT fix all your training issues

Your dog could have an amazing “heel” or you could spend weeks focused on down/stays, BUT if you never taught your dog the art of doing nothing then they won't be able to relax around triggers

Dog's need to build neutrality around high-distraction areas! Neutrality means that the dog is neither excited nor fearful of the stimuli you are around

Training neutrality is the slow, boring part of dog training that no one wants to talk about.🥱

It doesn't make for cool videos.

But it will change your dog's entire perspective
of the world and their ability to calmly exist in it 🌍

So take your dog and go sit places until they stop pacing and relax next to you. Reward them for working through their busy mind and finally deciding to just chill with you 🧘‍♀️

Early scent introduction (ESI) is a training program for puppies designed to enhance their ability to identify, and react to, specific scents. Each day, we introduce a strong scent to the puppy for brief intervals, and record the puppy’s reaction.

Here’s a short description of what it is and why we do it. ☺️

✨Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to the Early Neurological stimulation exercises.

♥️ improved heart rate
♥️stronger heart beats
♥️stronger adrenal glands
♥️more tolerance to stress and
♥️ a greater resistance to disease.

👩‍🏫 In tests of learning, stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than their non- stimulated littermates over which they were dominant in competitive situations.

Secondary effects were also noted regarding test performance. In simple problem solving tests using detours in a maze, the non-stimulated pups became extremely aroused, whined a great deal, and made many errors. Their stimulated littermates were less disturbed or upset by test conditions and when comparisons were made, the stimulated littermates were more calm in the test environment, made fewer errors and gave only an occasional distress sound when stressed.

#2. Background Noise: Drown out the sound of fireworks by playing some soothing background noise, like classical music or nature sounds. This can help mask the sudden bursts of noise and create a more relaxing environment for your pup.

#3. Close the Curtains: Dim the lights and close the curtains to minimize the visual stimulation from the fireworks. This can help reduce your dog's anxiety by blocking out the flashes and bursts of light.

Journey is an absolute gem. He's such a happy, easy going boy, a bit of a goofy character. We were going to keep him for our breeding program, but with Thunder still with us, we decided to have Journey neutered and let him join his new family.

Journey is very good on the leash, sit and stay like a champ, very attentive and eager to please. He loves his crate for his naps and night time.
He's a great sport with all other dogs, and gets along great with them.

Journey is up to date with vaccines, has all his health testing done, is neutered, and CKC registered.

He is a Goldador, the son of Thunder and Ember. Archie is very human-focused, a very smart boy. He catches on to new commands quickly and loves to please. He is a very active boy, loves his runs to the bush, but also enjoys snuggles by the campfire. He loves meeting new humans, loves babies and gets worried when they cry.
Archie is doing the Certified Intensive Service Dog course with Service Dog International.

🌸 River’s little Labradors arrived on May 10th + 11th. Our sweet girl gave birth to a stillborn at 9:40am, a big beautiful yellow male. At 12:46 she had another male coming in at 18oz 😲.
She rested for 24 hours, and at noon the next day she had a sweet little girl weighing 14.3oz. At 6:30pm she had her last baby, a stillborn girl. We tried everything we could with the two babies, but sadly they were already gone. 🥺

The babies were a week on Saturday and are doing sooo well!! They have their choice of milk supply so both have put on quite abit of weight. 😅 chunky little monkeys.
River is such an attentive mama, ensuring her babies are content and full. 🫠

UPCOMING LITTER CONTEST
Hello everyone!!!
We have an exciting purebred Lab (Labrador Retriever) litter coming up -due May 8th, with River and Chase.

River is our English Lab female, who lives with and adores Sarah, our part time assistant.
We took River down to Sylvan Hills Labradors in Pennsylvania to have her bred to AKC Champion Chase’s Midnight Ridge, aka Chase.
He is a gorgeous black Labrador Retriever, with a great temperament, and excellent health clearances.
This litter has the potential of having all three colours of puppies -black, yellow, and chocolate.

We would love to have any and all of you join us in a fun contest, see who will have the closest guess at how many and what colour puppies River and Chase will have, and when the first wee one will arrive.

We have three prizes available for the three closest guesses.
We will post the prizes on the Goldador/Purebred Lab Puppy Page.

We buddy them up week 1 of crate training as this will be the first time they are away from mama, and we want the training to be a positive experience for them.
Then week 2, we start them off solo with a snuggly to chew on and cuddle with.
The fan you hear in the background is directed at our juniors in crates who run a little hot, and are more comfortable with a fan as well as the lullabies.
